Evelyn and Jen reveal friendship ended over a blog on Basketball Wives Season 4 Premiere

Last night, Basketball Wives Miami returned to VH1 for its fourth season and it popped off full of drama as to be expected. The episode focused on the ongoing feud between Jennifer and Evelyn, which has been lingering since last season. During a sit down between all of the girls, Jennifer claimed she had no clue of why Evelyn hasn’t spoken to her over the last few months. Evelyn explained that after their trip to Rome last season, she read a blog by Jen that said something to the effect of “How could Evelyn say I chase the same type of men? How could she say such a thing?” and Evelyn was pissed off about it.
Of course, Jen doesn’t own up to writing the post and claims that it was her publicist who wrote the post while she was on vacay. With an attitude, Jen asks “What do you want from me, Evelyn? Do you want an apology?” Evelyn, of course, wasn’t too pleased with her tone and says “Jennifer, tone it down, I’m going to punch you in your motherf—ing face.” The two began to go back and forth trying to explain their side of the story and then with tears in her eyes Jen tried to make a truce by saying, “We don’t have to be friends but we don’t have to be enemies.”  With a straight face and no compassion Evelyn replied, “You’re not my friend. You are my enemy. Take your crocodile tears and go talk to your publicist.”
Now, If you were just as confused as we were about what they were actually beefing about after all of the back and forth, both Jen and Evelyn took to their respective blogs on their websites, to further explain their fall out.  Jen wrote:
As you heard on tonight’s show, Evelyn is upset with me about a blog that was written by my publicist. Reason being, I didn’t have time to personally do it because I was on vacation in Italy with my girlfriends. I honestly didn’t think she wrote anything awful or harmful. It stated my opinion and I feel I ‘m allowed to have one. Take a look for yourself. Was this statement really worth all the drama? “The idea of me being jealous of Evelyn’s engagement is a bunch of crap and NO I don’t mess around with the same type of guys that Evelyn dates. I am just getting out of a ten year relationship and am very cautious about who I go out with.”
What I really have a hard time understanding is that this blog came out July 19th, 2011 and the first time I heard about Evelyn being mad was in November 2011. When we filmed the reunion in July the blog was out and she didn’t mention it then. It is just absurd to me that we are fighting over something so simple in my eyes but I guess not in hers. So be it!
Evelyn wrote on her blog:
Jen knew what I was upset about and has known for a while. The actual discussion during the last scene of the show was actually longer, but due to editing was shortened.
Her comment tonight, “I can F*** whoever I want to F***, I’m not marrying no damn athlete!” was again, very hurtful. Basically she is still dissing my relationship and my fiancĂ©. What type of so-called friend would have the audacity to do that? And why would she contradict herself? Didn’t you just say on the show “I can f*** whoever I want to F***, I’m not marrying no damn athlete!” I don’t get it! Whether you are having sex with, marrying, dating or not you are still sleeping with athletes and my man happens to be an athlete! DUH! That would be the same type of person!
And what is so crazy is that Jen was OUT having “relations” with athletes and trying to play the innocent role on the show. Last season Jen was dating, however, she acted as though she wasn’t to viewers. At least, I give our viewers ALL of me; I don’t lie to any of you guys regarding my personal life, friendships, etc.
We have been friends for twelve years and at the end of the day, talking smack about my fiancĂ© is OFF LIMITS. I don’t care in what capacity, I make certain not to discuss Shaunie, Tami’s or Jen’s personal life when I am doing interviews. It is called LOYALTY. The comments that Jen carelessly made about my relationship is an issue and she was not being a real friend.
Good Grief! This drama is just about fried. If you are interested in reading the blog that Jen’s publicist wrote, Click here
